Jungle Hike: You’ll only get this adventure through Skudin Surf Dominical! Come to our private 650-acre jungle preserve and go on a guided hike through primary rain forest full of howler monkeys, sloths, 200 year old trees, fresh water streams and pristine views of the Pacific Ocean.
Reptile Park: Visit the South Pacific Zone’s only reptile and Amphibian Park and Costa Rica’s largest and most diverse reptile Exhibition. All of these magnificent animals are housed in 55 terrarium style secure enclosures on a little more than an acre of land. Bring your camera and spend as much time as you’d like exploring the garden, ponds, exhibits and feeding times!
Flight of the Toucan: The Rainforest Zip line tour imitates the flight of the chestnut-mandible toucan, as it leaps off a branch, swoops down through the forest and then up into another tree. On this tour, 8 separate cable rides take you from one ridge top to another, across valleys and streams. There are 14 land based platforms and 1 tree platform with a view of the coast. You will have 2 guides on this tour, one of whom speaks fluent English. This is a great way to see and learn about the forest and have lots of fun at the same time.
Nauyaca Waterfalls / Horseback Riding: These wonderful waterfalls are one of the main attractions of the Southern Pacific Zone of Costa Rica. This tour is known in the area as Don Lulo’s Horseback Riding Waterfall Tour. It starts in the beautiful Baru valley, where your guide will lead you through meandering trails on your way to the Barucito River. During your peaceful ride you will marvel at the exotic birds and wildlife before arriving at Don Lulo’s house for a traditional “Tico style” breakfast. Here you will meet some more of our jungle friends at Don’s mini zoo. You can hold a toucan and scarlet macaw and maybe even pet a sloth! After relaxing for awhile it’s time to mount up again and enjoy the journey to the amazing Nauyaca waterfalls. Once at the falls it’s time to take in the experience of these majestic cascades. With the water falling from a height of 150 feet into a huge, sparkling, 20 foot deep swimming hole below you will think that you have arrived at the Garden of Eden. Depending on how adventurous you are, you can climb up the falls as high as you dare and take the plunge into the clear, cool water below, or you can just enjoy a refreshing swim.

Canyoning/Waterfall Repelling: Canyoning, also known as canyoneering in North America, is a vertical sport that involves descending a series of waterfalls using techniques such as rappelling, jumping, sliding, and boulder scrambling. Our canyon involves mostly rappelling. We have 6 waterfalls varying in height that are in succession from smallest to biggest. This allows the guest to become comfortable with rappelling before descending Iguana Falls, our last and most adrenaline pumping waterfall.
All our techniques are demonstrated by professional qualified guides with over 10 years of international canyon guiding experience (Switzerland, France, Italy, New Zealand, and Costa Rica).
White Water Rafting: With Costa Rica’s natural beauty and bountiful vegetation this is one place that gets plenty of rainfall creating swift, exciting rivers. You chose a river to suite your comfort level. The Savegre River is mostly class II and III rapids. This river has many swimming holes and beautiful water falls to explore. 7:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. / drive to put in 1 hour. The Guabo River is a class III. During this 8 mile (13km) descent you will have the chance to hike waterfalls and stop to have lunch where you can enjoy the beauty of the canyon before ending you trip in Dominical.
Finally, the Coto Brus River is more technical with class III and IV rapids. Boaters are rarely found on this river so expect solitude and adrenalin filled rapids! River Rafting is an all day adventure, leaving at 6:30 a.m. and returning around 5:00 p.m. The put-in is approximately 1.5 hours from Dominical. All descents include professional equipment, expert bi-lingual guides with safety certifications and years of experience. Breakfast is included on the Coto Brus and Savergre River trips. *Requirements: must know how to swim and have the ability to walk in slippery or unstable places and paddle.
ATV Tour: This is a 4-5 hour tour that will take you over the mountains and into some deep jungle with spectacular ocean views, passing through several streams, coffee and banana plantations, where you frequently see monkeys, toucans and other exotic wildlife. You will then arrive at San Luis water fall where you can cool off with some complimentary drinks and snacks while gazing up at the waterfall where normally it disappears up into the clouds.
Snorkeling Isla de Cano: We depart early from Dominical for our 90 minute drive along the Pacific Ocean to the little town of Sierpe. We will stop here for breakfast at the Oleaje Sereno Restaurant. Please bring money for the breakfast as it is not provided as part of the tour.
After breakfast, you’ll take a comfortable 90 minute boat ride through some of the largest mangrove swamps in Central America to Caño Island. The mangroves are inhabited by crocodiles, snakes, four species of monkeys, and a great variety of birds. Once through the Sierpe River Mouth we'll boat past two of the most scenic areas in the country, Drake Bay and the Marenco Biological Reserve. Along the beautiful coast we'll keep an eye out for Dolphins as well as Humpback, Pilot and Killer Whales.
After arriving at the island we will snorkel for an hour in the crystal clear waters, followed by a tasty picnic lunch. We offer several options for the second part of the trip:
1) Hike up the trails to the archeological cemetery where your professional guide will tell you about the significance of the stone spheres.
2) Another session of great snorkeling (or)
3) relax on the beautiful beach. After a fun-filled day, relax in our comfortable van until we drop you off at your hotel.
Included in Standard and Premium Packages:
Everyone will receive an official Skudin Surf Costa Rica Merit Certification at the end of your stay to prove to everyone just what an awesome surfer you are!
Take home a CD full of photos from your surf lessons. Candid shots to remind you of your on-sand training, your first paddle out, your first wave and the huge smiles on your face as you come in for lunch!
Brag to your friends back home!
