About our Rockaway Beach New York Surf Camps

Our Rockaway Beach Surfing Camps are open to boys and girls ages 5-18 of any skill level.

Whether you're a beginner or an experienced surfer, our surf camps in Rockaway Beach will enhance your surfing skills and experience. Skudin Surf provides rash guards to color group participants according to age and ability, and children will be supervised by our experienced, certified surf instructors from the time they arrive until they leave. They'll have an amazing day in the sun and surf... we guarantee it!

Camp Activities

  • Activities: Meet beach Lifeguards and certified NSSIA instructors about ocean safety, rip currents, surf safety, and surf etiquette
    • Surf safety : Learn how to enter and exit the surf, and ride your surfboard safely, with introduction to the etiquette of surfing to avoid accidents.
  • Ocean safety : Learn the different types of ocean and surf currents and how to safely avoid and/or maneuver through them.
  • Land instruction: Learn the "pop up" where students will be taught how to jump correctly from a prone position to a proper surfing stance.
  • Ocean surf instruction: Professional and master surf instructors will be in the water assisting students in the correct way to catch and ride waves.
  • Beach games: Since it is unsafe for anyone to be in the water for a continuous 4 hours we have beach games and activities; such as beach tennis USA and beach volleyball, plus featured prizes from our sponsors.
  • Amenities: Snack, beverages and T-shirt are provided. Surf board, wetsuit, and rash guard are also provided.
